In this 2hr tutorial I will be taking you step by step through my entire concept art and illustration workflow. We start with a client brief, work out some ideas and sketches, then we move over to 3d-Coat for some basic modeling of our scene.

In the 2nd half of the tutorial we take our model into Keyshot to render out our scene while focusing on texture, composition and lighting before heading into Photoshop where we use a variety of digital painting techniques to achieve our final image.

Included:

– 2 hrs of video complete with narration where I provide step by step instruction as well as various tips and my overall thought process.

– PSD source file.

– The majority of brushes and tools I use can be found on Jama Jurabaev’s website for free.

Programs Used:

-3D-Coat

-Keyshot

-Photoshop

Notes:

If you are looking for more affordable software to achieve similar results I’d suggest checking out Marmoset Toolbag for rendering and Blender for 3d Modeling which is open source and free.
